Walk a mile with your canine companion in honor of Bart and all veterans over Veterans Day or the following weekend.
Take Your Dog to Work for Bart will be a Veterans Day promotion and awareness campaign honoring Bart, the military working dog lost aboard Extortion 17, while encouraging participation in Bart’s Mile.
Wednesday, November 11 – Veterans Day
Companies and workplaces that permit dogs are encouraged to invite employees to bring their dogs to work on Veterans Day in honor of Bart. Employees can register for Bart’s Mile, wear their Bart’s Mile shirt, put the Bart’s Mile bandana on their dog, and share photos throughout the day.
Employees can:
- Bring their dog to work, where permitted
- Register for Bart’s Mile
- Wear their Bart’s Mile shirt
- Put the Bart’s Mile bandana on their dog
- Take a mile walk during lunch or another convenient time during the workday
- Share photos and participation on social media
Because Veterans Day falls on a Wednesday this year, Bart’s Mile will continue through the weekend, giving participants flexibility to complete their mile anytime during Veterans Day weekend.
The campaign provides companies, employees, and dog owners with a simple and meaningful way to honor Bart, raise awareness, and participate in Bart’s Mile.
Company Participation Includes:
- Helping raise funds for 31Heroes, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
- An opportunity for employee team building and engagement
- Company recognition on the Bart’s Mile registration page
- Company recognition on 31Heroes social media
- Photos and company participation highlighted on social media during Bart’s Mile
- No cost to the company
