DESCRIPTION:The 31Heroes WOD (workout of the day) was specifically designed to remember the fallen heroes of August 6\, 2011\, and honor their legacy of sacrifice. \nThe 31Heroes WOD will take place simultaneously across the globe\, in your local gym or a location of your choosing\, on August 2\, 2025. If August 2nd does not work with your programming\, don’t let that stop you from completing the 31Heroes WOD on a different day of your choice. \nIf you are an athlete\, sign up to complete the workout at either a gym of your choosing or as an individual athlete. \nCreate your fundraising page and raise or donate $31 to receive your Limited Edition WOD shirt. \n\n\nThe WOD is AMRAP (as many rounds as possible) in 31 minutes to honor the 31Heroes who gave their lives on August 6\, 2011.\nThe workout consists of rope climbs\, box jumps\, and thrusters with a teammate. While one teammate runs with a sandbag for 400 meters\, the other is performing the workout. When the one with the sandbag returns\, you switch off and take up where your teammate left off until you reach 31 minutes.\n\nThe 31Heroes WOD is more than a workout.\nFor the athletic community\, this is our moment of silence. \nThis is how we remember. This is how we come together to support those who’ve fought for us.

As a family directly impacted by the noble mission of 31 Heroes\, we invite you to join us in remembering the brave souls lost in the events of Extortion 17 and to contribute to raising crucial funds for this cause. \nThis year\, we are honoring the memory of Nicholas P. Spehar\, a distinguished Navy SEAL who exemplified courage\, dedication\, and selflessness. Born in Minneapolis\, Minnesota\, on October 19th\, 1986\, Nicholas grew up in Chisago City\, Minnesota\, and joined the Navy in March 2007. His journey was marked by extraordinary achievements\, including graduating from the prestigious Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/s) Training and SEAL Qualification Training with Class 267. \nNicholas served with distinction\, deploying to the Philippines and Yemen in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He earned the coveted titles of Honor Man in both Naval Special Warfare Lead Breacher and Naval Special Warfare Sniper School. Known for his leadership\, tireless work ethic\, and elite warrior skills\, Nicholas volunteered for deployment to Afghanistan upon his return from Yemen. Tragically\, on August 6\, 2011\, he was killed in action during combat operations in Wardak Province\, Afghanistan. \nNicholas’s legacy is one of honor\, integrity\, and unwavering devotion to his family\, faith\, and country. He was awarded the Army Achievement Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal\, recognizing his exceptional service and commitment. \nBy participating in this event\, you are not only remembering a true American hero but also contributing to a cause that provides vital support to the families of fallen warriors. SUMMARY:31Heroes Main WOD at TakeOver Athletics Virginia Beach
DESCRIPTION:The WOD event has been held every year on the first Saturday in August and happens simultaneously across the globe\, in a local gym or other locations. The WOD is an AMRAP (as many rounds as possible) in 31 minutes to honor the 31Heroes who gave their lives on Aug. 6\, 2011. Each round of the workout consists of a 400-meter run with a sandbag\, eight barbell thrusters\, six rope climbs and 11 box jumps with a teammate. Like the warriors of our armed services\, this WOD is about working together\, sacrificing yourself for your teammate and accomplishing the mission as a unit. While one teammate completes the run\, the other uses that time to tackle a round of thrusters\, rope climbs and box jumps. When the teammate with the sandbag returns\, the two swap duties\, picking up where the other left off until the clock reaches 31 minutes. \nWhile people will gather at locations worldwide for the workout\, the Main Event WOD location is TakeOver Athletics at 1461 London Bridge Rd\, Virginia Beach\, VA 23453-3772  The event begins at 8 a.m. and heats run every 40 minutes until early afternoon. Friends\, family and spectators can attend and watch for free.

DESCRIPTION:Register TODAY! \nTo celebrate the incredible lives of these fallen heroes and support their families\, 31 Miles for 31 Heroes will hold memorial rucks at various locations throughout the world to honor the lives of the Heroes of Extortion 17. \nParticipants will carry 2 bricks in their rucks\, one to represent the lives of our fallen and the other to represent the burden carried by their families. \nPeriodically\, Ruckers stop to read the bios of these warriors and raise a drink (of water) to their memories. All funds raised will benefit 31Heroes\, a non-profit which serves to impact the lives of our nation’s heroes and their families\, while remembering the fallen.
